Internship & Residency Programme

The specialist departments at Beecroft offer an intensive one-year training programme in a fixed department in specific areas of veterinary medicine. This postgraduate internship training is an important step for those intending to specialise or improve their clinical knowledge to become advanced practitioners. Recommended for veterinarians with more than one year of experience. Fresh graduates may also apply.

Specialist veterinarians

Non-Specialist Veterinarians

Must have a degree in Veterinary Medicine or Veterinary Science and a veterinary licensure in Singapore
A minimum of two (2) years of practice experience or prior emergency experience.
Demonstrates passion, focus, and excellent client service skills.
Required to work on some public holidays on a rotational basis.
Excellent communication skills to maintain and build relationships with referring clinics.

Rotating Internship

Fresh graduates who have completed their Bachelors in Veterinary Medicine are welcome to apply for standard rotation of 13 weeks through each of our four core departments in a year:

Fixed Department Internship

Recommended for veterinarianswith more than a year of experience. Fresh graduates may apply.

One year in a core department:

You will operate the Imaging equipment’s, conduct imaging procedures, and assist veterinarians in diagnosing complex conditions. Your expertise will ensure accurate imaging and the best possible care for our animal patients.

Responsibilities

Ensuring staff and patient safety at all times by making sure MRI safety rules are followed.
Assist the nurses with anaesthesia of patients undergoing imaging and monitor these patients post GA.
Set up appropriate equipment for imaging modalities such as CT, MRI and ultrasounds.
If there are no MRI cases, the candidate will assist with other imaging modalities.

Qualifications

Must be an MRI-trained. Would consider any human nurse or technician with this training.
Certified/registered Veterinary Technician diploma or degree is advantageous but not necessary.
The position will be 5 days per week, 8 hours per day.
Weekend on-calls may be required.

As a Veterinary Rehabilitation Professional, you play a critical role in the recovery and well-being of pets. Your expertise in veterinary physiotherapy is essential for helping animals regain their mobility and quality of life after injuries and illnesses.

Requirements

Recommended for fresh graduates.

Standard rotations of 13 weeks through each of our four core departments:

Veterinary Student and Nursing Externship

Externship opportunities are provided to students pursing Veterinary diploma and Bachelor’s degree in the field of Nursing or Veterinary science.

We work with the Temasek Polytechnic Diploma of Veterinary Technology programme and accept students for externships. The nurse externship programme is also open to existing nurses from other clinics to learn and upgrade their skills. We offer work attachments for nurses and nursing students in departments such as Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery and Avian & Exotics. The minimum student externship attachment period is two weeks.

We welcome internation collaborations with Universities for Undergraduate Veterinary Internships to students who can qualify for the Work Holiday Programme under the Ministry of Manpower, Singapore guidelines.

This opportunity will enrich your learning experience and expose you to a referral and emergency veterinary setting.

Veterinary Nurse plays a vital role in providing the highest standard of care for animals. As part of our collaborative team, you will assist veterinarians with medical procedures, monitor patients, administer treatments, and ensure the well-being of our patients.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
Diploma in Vet tech or relevant Veterinary nursing qualification.
At least five (5) years of work experience in the veterinary industry.

Senior Veterinary Nurse

Degree or Diploma in veterinary technology or relevant nursing qualifications.
At least seven (7) years of work experience in the veterinary industry.
A minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure.

Junior Veterinary Nurse

Diploma in veterinary technology or relevant nursing qualifications.

PCA assist with animal care, support veterinary staff, and ensure a clean and safe environment for our patients. No prior veterinary training or experience is required; we will provide comprehensive one year training to help you develop your skills and advance your career towards veterinary nursing.
